This tutorial shows you how to open attachments that have been sent to you on emails as well as how to save them to your computer for later reference.
To open an attachment, do the following.
Step 1: Open the email which contains the attachment.
Step 2: Press the F2 key to open the actions menu, then use the down arrow key to find the, View Attachments option and press Enter on it.
Step 3: A list of the attachments that are on the email will be displayed. You can move up and down the list by using the up and down arrow keys and press Enter on an attachment you wish to open. When you do so, if the attachment is a document, GuideConnect will announce that it is recognising text and will load the document onto the screen. You can then read the document by using your down arrow key to move at your own speed. Alternatively, you can press the F5 key for GuideConnect to read it automatically from start to finish.
If the attachment is a picture or photo, GuideConnect will load it onto the screen and you can use the F11 and F12 keys to decrease or increase magnification. You can also press F2 to open the actions menu for options to rotate, change colour etc.
If the attachment is an mp3 file, GuideConnect will open the MP3 player. Simply press Enter to play and pause. Press the left and right arrow keys to skip backwards and forwards respectively.
Step 4: If you wish to save an attachment of any type, press the F2 key to open the actions menu and press Enter on the, Save option. GuideConnect will ask you if you want to change the file name. If you do, simply type the new file name you wish to use and press Enter. If you want to keep the original file name, simply press Enter. GuideConnect then saves the attachment in the, Saved Attachments folder in the Emails menu.
