Coaching is a relationship between the coach and the client that helps the client change behaviours, achieve goals and take positive steps in furthering their personal and/or business development. The relationship can last from several weeks to several months depending on what the client wants and needs from their coaching experience. During the coaching process the client deepens their understanding of themself, broadens their thinking and makes changes that impact positively upon their life.
Coaching encompasses what is going on in the client’s life and work and facilitates change through raising awareness of choice and helping the client understand what they need to do to achieve their goals. By using a variety of techniques the coach helps the client draw on their inner resourcefulness to address and overcome the obstacles that are preventing them from fulfilling their potential.
AVC uses a natural and relaxed coaching style that puts the client at ease and creates space, allowing them to further explore their chosen topic in a safe and confidential environment. The approach is challenging but positive and helps the client identify and explore issues or internal conflicts whilst enabling them to work through possible solutions. The client is encouraged to delve deeper into themselves through the coach’s use of open, challenging and thought provoking questions and observations. It’s through these techniques that the client is equipped to overcome barriers, focus on strengths and identify opportunities.
Coaching is invaluable for people who wish to build their confidence, enhance their communication skills, improve their goal setting and goal achievement, improve their organisation and planning skills as well as people who are in a transitional period at work, are returning to work after a long break or trying to get into the workplace for the first time.
